Blade
The blades of these kitchen knives are made of X50CrMoV15 stainless steel with chrome plating, which is corrosion-resistant and requires no special care.

Handle

The handles of these Opinel kitchen knives are made of plain beech wood. Beech wood grown on French farms is hard, resistant to external influences and easy to handle. The wood has a homogeneous appearance and its light colour can vary from yellow to pink. Beech wood can be identified by its numerous dark streaks. The handle is lacquered to protect it from moisture and dirt.

Virobloc safety ring
These knives, as well as other Opinel knives, are equipped with the Virobloc safety ring invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. The Virobloc ring, cut from stainless steel, consists of two parts: a fixed and a sliding part. The blade is locked in both a folded position (for safe handling) and a folded position (for safety during transport).
